These puzzles help students understand how to predict the meaning of compound words using a few common semantic patterns (e.g. “A birdhouse is a house for a bird”, “A rattlesnake is a snake that has a rattle”, etc.). This is a great activity for students working on vocabulary, formulating sentences, or learning compound nouns. Recommended for kindergarten through 2nd grade.
